Ever find a character really annoying, only to find out that that's the character everyone else loves?
For me:
Phoebe - Friends Abed - Community Kramer - Seinfeld (although I still love him, I just like the other three more)

George was an awful person, really, and yet you saw yourself in him and he made you love him. One of the all-time great sitcom characters!

I stopped watching Friends at some point during its original run because I could no longer stand the characters of Phoebe and Joey. To my great surprise, once the show ended, a poll that asked fans "which Friends character would you like to have their own spin-off show" resulted in ... Joey and Phoebe!
The Big Bang Theory in another example. Sheldon seems to be the fan favourite, but I can't stand him.

There's probably plenty of others that I'm forgetting, but these were the first two I thought of:
Anya in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Chloe O'Brian in 24.

Not actually sure if he is a fan fave...but
Sons of Anarchy - Jax Teller
I never really liked him. I liked moments with him, but there was always this annoying thing about his character I couldn’t quite place and I tended to side with the other Sons even if Jax was in the right.

Full House. Without a doubt. People loved monkey child when she was a brat.
My fave was Joey.

I don't know who the fan fav was but plenty of people disliked Michael Mancini from Melrose Place. He was continuously funny but people hated him (I get he was like a sexual deviant but Dr wise I want him to tend to me.)
Jane was almost special needs!

I 100% agree on Kramer. He was actually my least favorite of the four. George was BY FAR the best. He made the entire show for me. Also, I never liked Daryl too much from The Walking Dead. He barely ever says anything and the actor sucks, for the most part. Somehow, everyone loves him.

Hannibal Lector. I understand the fascination, but the rabid fans saying they'd marry him is scary honestly.

Littlefinger. This guy was a complete shit-heel. Was he ever a fan favorite tho? Most people couldn’t wait to see him die.

The Buffy talk reminded me that I never really liked Wesley in Angel.
