When MAY is revealed to be half-asian, I thought "Ah, so BETHANY wanted an abortion so JOE wouldn't be devastated... and she blocked him due to the stress of the moment (he was getting angry)... and then decided to not unblock him in order to keep the secret... and when she saw him months later, she panicked and couldn't think of any other solution than a restraining order... so she probably convinced herself that she was doing the right thing."
However, about a minute later, JOE starts talking to BETHANY's dad. He's being defensive and I don't know why. OK, so he went inside the house without knocking, but still. What did BETHANY tell his dad about JOE?
Then I started to think "BETHANY she didn't do all of this for JOE, but to protect herself... I mean, she must've know that JOE would suffer more by being kept in the dark of her weird behavior and by not being able to see his daughter... She probably did feel guilty, though."
