What if Rey had been made to be descended from Bastila Shan?
By blood alone would connect her to 4000 years of Star Wars history. 4000 years of wars, pain, and bloodshed. 4 millennia of empires rising and falling, of sacrifices, of joyful reunions, tearful farewells, happy weddings, and somber funerals.
But thanks to TLJ that potential for connection to something greater than Rey is gone, and thanks to Disney the Skywalker legacy is about to be reduced to almost nothing.

She would be this guy: Rey Shan (in asia surnames comes first)

I thought it would be great if her surname was Kahuka.

I thought it was rather amusing in The Last Jedi when Snoke had to attempt to sinisterly call her just "Rey". "Ah the great Rey", or suchlike, he said - I nearly burst out laughing 😂
Why didn't they just give her a surname, any surname? Would have made no odds after whatever reveal they decided to concoct on the back of a fag packet between games of darts down the local boozer...
