Surely, it won't be for a while, but who cares? I can't wait! It's about time we get a solo movie with her, despite her many appearances in the other movies. Also, I don't care how old she'll be when it happens, but hopefully we'll get some more sexy-time with her. Maybe a shot of her in some lingerie while fighting crime?  |

What worries me is that Scarjo can't seem to properly carry a movie as lead character. Every movie she's been the main character has been somewhat underwhelming.

What worries me is that Scarjo can't seem to properly carry a movie as lead character. Every movie she's been the main character has been somewhat underwhelming. I like her as an actress overall. I think she has a good balance between competent dramatic acting and credible action-star antics. I would watch Lucy one thousand times before watching Salt or Mr. and Mrs. Smith even once. That said, she will need to dig a little deeper to pull off a compelling solo Black Widow outing. I've made it a point to contain my enthusiasm for this project and to keep my expectations in check. I genuinely want to be surprised by what they come up with rather than spinning some nonsensical fanfic. A BW film doesn't have to play like a Le Carré novel but, I wouldn't be disappointed if they went for something that was less action-oriented and more subtle. The comic books explored the idea of Natasha as an unreliable narrator of her past who has been so deceitful and duplicitous she no longer can discern the truth from the lies she has told. Her personality is malleable, and she is who she needs to be at any given moment. It would be great to see her go to war with everyone simultaneously; S.H.E.I.L.D., organized crime, the intelligence community, the military, etc. |

This is Hollywood. If you're a woman, your career pretty much disappears at 35 unless you want to chase Oscars at 72 playing the cranky grandmother or whatever. Maybe the latest women's movement and the metoo stuff will actually change the unwritten rules in Hollywood instead of being a feel good trend, we'll see. |
