In THE HAWAIIANS, Charlton Heston played Whip Hoxworth. Please. In DAYS OF THUNDER, Tom Cruise played Cole Trickle. Seriously?

In 1932 there was a series of short films called "Baby Burlesks" Shirley Temple appeared in several of them with character names like Madame Cradlebait, Morelegs Sweettrick, and LaBelle Diaperina. She was four at the time and her castmates were similarly year-deficient.
more about the series Baby Burlesks is the collective series title of eight thematically unrelated one-reeler films produced by Jack Hays and directed by Charles Lamont for Educational Pictures in 1932 and 1933. The eight films are satires on major motion pictures, film stars, celebrities, and current events, and sometimes contain material that may be considered racist or sexist by modern standards. Cast members are preschoolers clad in adult costumes on the top and diapers fastened with large safety pins on the bottom.
The series is notable for featuring three-year-old Shirley Temple in her first screen appearances. In her 1988 autobiography, the actress describes the Baby Burlesks as "a cynical exploitation of our childish innocence".

Clark Gable played Ace Wilfong in A Free Soul (1931) Humphrey Bogart played Rip Murdock in Dead Reckoning (1947) Bogie played Whip McCord in The Oklahoma Kid (1939)
Are we going for deliberately funny/bad or suggestive names like in the Baby Burlesks, above?
Well then...
Stella Stevens as Appassionata Von Climax in Lil Abner (1959) Paddy C. Courtney as Buster Cherry in Podge and Rodge. A Scare at Bedtime (Irish TV show) (1997-2006)

Bogie's character in IN A LONELY PLACE is named Dixon Steele who sounds like he would be the mayor of Pornville.

Cheri Oteri plays "Gail Hailstorm" in Scary Movie, which is a spoof of Courteney Cox as "Gale Weathers" in Scream. Both are news reporters and not weather girls, oddly enough.
