Why? You must seriously hate Ghostbusters, Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr Who. They have humor in them. Your "dead serious" Punisher show hasn't done as well as the MCU products with levity in them. Comedy is part of Deadpools character. It's a part of lots of Marvel characters. And a great movie. Hell yes they do. And how many people actually enjoyed Anakin's character or found his actions believable? You missed out that stuff where McCoy gave Kirk an inflated hand due to allergies? OR...it just isn't that great a show for other reasons.

No, SMH never confirms that Uncle Ben is dead or that there was any tragedy. Peter only says that Aunt May has been through a lot. You need to be spoonfed? Realized he was part of a bigger world, wanted to be part of it, but then realized maybe that wasn't the way to go. A nice new take on things.

No, SMH never confirms that Uncle Ben is dead or that there was any tragedy. Peter only says that Aunt May has been through a lot. But that doesn't mean Uncle ben is dead or there was any tragedy. That could just mean that Ben parker cheated on May and they got divorced and May had a hard time dealing with that. But what SMH does make clear is that Peter doesn't give a shit about any "great responsibility" and his entire motivation for being a hero is to try to impress Tony Stark, which is a shallow reason to be a hero. Just because we don't see Uncle Ben or hear about him doesn't mean he didn't exist, didn't die, and there wasn't any tragedy from his passing. For crying out loud dude, it's Spider-Man virtually everybody knows his origin and what happens to his Uncle Ben just like how everybody knows Superman's home world Krypton exploded and he crashed in Kansas. And you totally ignore that Peter rejects Tony's offer to join The Avengers at the end of the film to focus on his community, if that isn't "great responsibility" what is? We don't know Kal El crashed in Kansas. It wasn't shown or said specifically. They just said he was the answer to are we alone in the universe. The movie cut out when his pod was still in the air over some unknown spot of land. That pod could have safely landed in some European meadow while the Kents were on vacation.

he has had some tragedy; Uncle Ben is dead and he even mentions what Aunt May is going through. Audiences already know that Uncle Ben is dead so they don't need that again. Sorry it didn't spoonfeed you Unlce Ben's death like Batman v Superman had to do with Thomas and Martha Wayne's death for the 100th time.

Well, at least that SORT of had a point...it was to show us that Thomas' last word was "Martha"...

In this video essay uploader captainmidnight explains how some of the creative choices behind Spider-Man: Homecoming improved upon elements from the past films and made them more true to the spirit of the comic. linkI think he makes some pretty good points, especially in his defense of Peter's high-tech suit. It allowed the filmmakers to actually use his eyes to emote, and the addition of an AI like "Karen" is a clever idea to go about Peter's endless talking to himself. Its an important character trait but out of concern of coming off as too cheesy and weird the past movies avoided this and made him talk less while wearing the suit. With "Karen" he has something/someone to talk to in costume and we the audience get to understand what makes him tick more. Beyond that, it was also smart move to "ground" the story by and not have the stakes be too big ( Not having everything on the line, making the villain's goals more simpler, etc.). They turned Spider-Man into a shallow show-off whose only motivation for being a hero is to try to impress Tony Stark. That completely betrays the comic book character. You know, DC-Fan, just some personal advice, but perhaps you could try to be less predictable. I mean, the best trolls out there know how to blindside their victims with stuff they'd never expect. Just saying.

As we know, the people that love Homecoming are some MCU ignorant fans and not really Spiderman fans That's uncalled for.
