I wasn't really old enough to remember Cornerstone's release, but Styx fans must have been so pissed. They were such a great band in the 70s and then that album happened. For me anyway, it's a huge letdown after the brilliances of Grand Illusion and Pieces of Eight.

I like that album very much. Sure, it is not even close of the stuff they had delivered before during the 80s, however an album which includes stuff like Turbo Lover, Reckless and Out in the Cold is not that bad at the end of the day (or at least so I think). However their next one, now that is a terrible record.

I've always imagined that their label or management told the band that this album would enable their to hold on to their core fans and pick up new fans at the same time. What actually happened is this album alienated their hardcore fans and failed to garner enough new ones to make the entire affair a debacle. In my case, I hated this album so much that I refused to keep it in the house. And I took a "won't get fooled again" attitude toward their following album "Ram It Down". I didn't return to the Priest fold until "Painkiller".

I like L7 and Queen. Got any favourite songs by them?
Phil Collins - Face Value - mostly average IMO all his others are better, best is maybe Both Sides Daryl hall and John Oates - Change of Season, their weakest, average album, Marigold Sky 1997 is their 2nd weakest IMO. Daryl Hall - Sacred Songs - don't like it Genesis(without Peter Gabriel) - Abacab 1981 - mostly average to me. Mike and the Mechanics - their seventh album The Road 2011. All preceding albums are better IMO. Their 8th I haven't listened to yet.

It's not great by any means, but I'd say it's closer to Point of Entry in quality--mostly middling, with a few standout songs. The title track is among my favorites from them, and Blood Red Skies is really good too.

At the time I was trying to avoid re-buying on CD all the Priest albums I already owned on vinyl. I ended up re-buying them all anyway.

I had all the remasters before I learned about the Loudness Wars and re-bought all the original releases, which sound a helluva lot better.
