Looks like it’s still happening. Also, interesting choice, given a certain other movie they worked on...

Warner Bros has just entered into negotiations with John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein to direct Flashpoint, the studio’s DC stand-alone movie centered on The Flash. Ezra Miler stars as the speedy one after playing the role in last summer’s franchise mashup Justice League.
The potential tie-up signals a comedic bent to the latest superhero pic from DC and Warners. The pair, who know a thing or two about the genre having penned Sony/Marvel’s franchise reboot Spider-Man: Homecoming, are known for writing big comedies like Horrible Bosses and Vacation, also Warner Bros pics. They also directed Vacation, and just directed Warners’ Game Night which releases later this year.
Uhhh...okay. Just seems odd they didn't try to snatch up Miller and Lord.

Comedy writer/directors? Whaaaaaat? The DCEU is suppose to be dark and depressing, though! The funny part about this is that it's Flashpoint... A story that was kind of dark and depressing. Good job!

What's with the long faces? Comedic writers can't take things seriously if need be? Jordan Peele wrote and directed Get Out ffs.

Getting comedy writers isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it’s an odd route to go for a film based on a dark storyline.

And the director behind your oh-so-anticipated Venom solo movie has been involved in many comedies as well as a director and a producer like Zombieland, 30 Minutes or Less, and Superstore.

ROFL! The DCU is like real life "Springtime For Hitler." It's almost as though they are trolling the whole world. How difficult is it for them to understand that the DCU is distinct from the MCU and shouldn't be trying to emulate it? People don't hate CBM's with a darker tone, they hate Hack Snyder. You don't need an MBA from Harvard to understand that. They could literally take a CBM fan off the street and put them in charge of the DCU and they'd do a better job than the idiots they currently have running their 3-ring circus. Just when you think things with the DCU can't get any worse...............

What Vision said in Civil War was true, MCU's strength resulted in challenges from DC, but WB's rush meant that they kept putting out half-assed products and that led to catastrophe.

Getting comedy writers isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it’s an odd route to go for a film based on a dark storyline. Having seen the animated movie which if they were really faithful in live action, it would be a f^cking hard R; no way around it. Seeing how popular Wonder Woman is now, I'm thinking they'll change the storyline so that she's not one of the villains or ditch the Atlantis-Themyscira war entirely.

Flashpoint directed by Sam Weir? I'd be down for a standalone comedic Flash movie, but Flashpoint is a serious storyline. Hopefully the posters bringing up the Russo bros are correct.
