N BY NW is what I call the third best Hitchcock film (behind classics SECRET AGENT and THE MANXMAN), but the one I get the biggest kick out of, due to the wit involved, mostly involving the "mother" scenes. There's no denying that the big scene with the cropduster is the most iconic scene ever in film History. To deny that would be the act of a clown. Easily the most well known single scene of any film ever.
CHARADE is not what one would call a "great story", but the iconic value is awesome. And lets face it, Audrey Hepburn is a beauty compared to the ordinary plainer girl next door look of Jill St. John, so there's more eye candy for the guys here, and the scenery is spectacular. It also has one of the most iconic and probably the most theatrical villain death ever at the end. The wit is there, too.
For me, the endless with of CHARADE makes it my choice. I think the famous line about "you won't be able to lie on your back for a while, but you can lie from any position can't you?" gives it the final nod from me.

North by Northwest by a lot. Charade is a nice little movie, but not nearly as good.

I love both films, but North by Northwest wins this round.

I think Charade should have been a Hitchcock movie. It practically was one in all but name.

The crop duster is really flying away with this one so far.
