Please. I'm middle-aged. Scream blows Nightmare, Friday and Halloween out of the water. You're half right, Scream DOES blow, because it's self parodying meta bullshit that insults the real, far superior slasher movies you disdain. On the contrary, I rather love all three franchises you think I disdain. It's possible to love one thing and exponentially love something else more you know. Scream is just critically a better movie than the first three installments of the other franchises in my opinion. The acting is far superior, the dialogue is far superior, there are more surprises and Scream manages to both present itself as a parody and a serious horror flick at the same time, which is pure genius.

Nah, it's pure shit that only thinks it's being clever and revolutionary by taking a dump on the entire slasher genre.

It's amazing how two people who see certain things the same way see other things completely oppositely. And how confident each can be in his own assertion. Scream didn't ignite negative feelings for slasher flicks when I watched it. In fact, I immediately had a hankering to watch said slasher flicks after watching it.

All Slashers are campy and stupid in their own right, sometimes ridiculous like Sleep Away Camp. The genre was killed by the time SCREAM came along.

The Scream movies are for YA teeny boppers not ready for real slasher movies. OK. They’re also fairly well-written, well-acted, and well-directed movies, as well as fair-play mysteries (a genre we don’t see much of anymore).

The Scream franchise is OK but I'm not sure I'd rate it significantly higher than other horror franchises.

Nope. She's easily the worst and it's not even close. Pathetic and annoying and so obviously playing up to the moronic millennial audience it made me embarrassed for everyone involved. Even those atrocious Wayans brothers movies were better and those things are more painful than hernia surgery without anesthesia. WOW, The OP asks a Question. I give my own answer and then I get criticized for it! Sorry about that ant. You have the right to your opinion too pal. It's just EVERY kid in that movie is really really annoying. I wanted ALL of them to be viciously butchered especially that dipshit Jill.

Yeah, I prefer my movies without self-parody and meta humor. Such as Demolition Man...wait.
