"If you think that's bad, wait until you get my bill."Having witnessed his own mother's tragic heart failure and how it affects his father, young Evan Rendell Jr. (Larry Drakes) decides to try and help out in a desperate search for a permanent cure. However, their work is not something which sits too well with the locals, especially when people seem to be losing bodyparts in some very mysterious ways. As an result, the once respected and well trusted doctor Evan Rendell is suddenly dragged out and killed by an angry mob, however his young son barely escapes. 35 years on and the now grown up and very disturbed individual Evan Rendell Jr. are about to plan on doing a grand comeback, as he seems to have some rather unfinished business to attend to in the little town of Moorehigh.
Schools out and the doctor is in. Dr. Giggles is one my favorite slasher/horror films from the early 90s. I tried to look it up but could not find any threads of the film it self, and thought it deserved its own. Anyway, I decided to re-watch it last night, and I gotta say it is still a very fun and enjoyable movie. Quotable as hell, with a sweet young Holly Marie Combs in the lead against a hilarious Larry Drake as the new doc in town. I enjoyed the small town feel, and while some of the other characters have little to work with, Larry Drake is a total riot and for me saves the film from mediocrity. This doc sure is effective, hell he even ends up "treating" half of the town of their health worries and not even bothers to get paid for all the trouble.
