They were but by their ratings you would not think so. How can they be so far apart? On my Direct-TV they have two groups of people that rate their movies. One is a group of people from Rotten Tomatoes. The other is from a group from Netflix. The group from Rotten Tomatoes gave it 38% with one of these: The other gave the same movie 82% and one of these: That is a big difference. The movie is called Equilbrium. But its not just that movie. I see all the time were one group gives a movie great rating while the other gives it terrible ratings.

Were they watching same movie?
Obviously they were, but they experience the movie differently. I don't know why this is such a difficult concept for some people to grasp.

How did I not understand it? You said you find it strange that two groups of people can watch the same movie and one half hates it and the other loves it.

The more reviews I see from Rotten Tomatoes, the more it seems they are either too critical or don't like a wide range of film types... I just looked up some information about "The 33" (2015): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_33_(film)It is a biographical disaster-survival drama film, based on the real events of the 2010 mining disaster, in which a group of thirty-three miners were trapped inside the San José Mine in Chile for more than two months. OK, I'll admit, it's may not be as "exciting" as a "superhero" film... But, it is a historical film, which happens to be mostly accurate, and as such, I thought it was very well done! But I happened to notice this... "flawed focus", "Formula"? & 43% Approval? For a biographical film? Seriously? You can't convince me that Rotten Tomatoes knows what the fuck they are talking about... From the indications of other responses to the film, Rotten Tomatoes gave it the worst reviews of all. Something which I have seen from them time and time again on so many other films. Quite Frankly, I really don't know why so many people and movie companies think their reviews are so great... I've gotten to the point, I just won't listen to their opinions anymore... because they seem as though they can't be trusted... Not sure if it is a bunch of 5 year olds running that place or what... but with so many negative reviews, they have lost all credibility with me. It's my opinion that no one should take their opinions taken too seriously... IMDB has average rating of 6.9/10 from 28,830 votes At least that seems a bit more realistic for a biographical film.
