linkMan, so many characters Oldman could play in the Marvel universe, I know to get the most out of Oldman it'd have to be somebody larger than life and eccentric and bizarre - those are the kind of characters Oldman enjoys playing the most.

My first idea: have Oldman play every single MCU character. Apologies to Messrs. Downey, Evans, et al., but I’d probably have enjoyed The Avengers more if Gary Oldman played every single character. My second idea: @forceghostackbar , President Ackbar™ —guys, fire everyone we had in the the Jesus Christ Cinematic Universe! Beat Marvel to the punch and have Gary Oldman play every one of our characters! Pre-emptive apologies for hijacking your thread, JudgeJuryDredd.

Since Simmons is playing Gordon now, Oldman should return the favor and play Jameson.

I'd be down for that. Characters he could play -Dr Octopus ... He could definitely play something similar to what Alfred Molina did with the character, or play the crazy version of him as we know Oldman can definitely do crazy and dangerous.
-Mephisto - He's an enemy of Ghost Rider, but also one of Dr Strange if we never get a Ghost Rider film. Mephisto is also kinda a rival to Thanos as well and one of most powerful beings who could actually match him, and I think Oldman can deliver that opposite of Josh Brolin.
-Norman Osborne (Maybe??) - This was the first one to come to mind, but he might be too old for the role

It sounds great on paper but Oldman generally appears in big budget movies for the money. He usually phones his performance in. I guess the fact that his kid appears to like Marvel might mean he makes an effort for a change? Nolan trilogy aside, I don't recall him trying much in any other similar movies.

Apparently he took that role to prove to his kids he was good at his job because all they'd seen him in was Lost in Space.

Although, yeah, he wasn't overacting as much as he can do. The trick would be to give him a character that isn't too shouty and has a bit of depth....give him something to work with.

You really think that, huh? I thought he was fine in Nolan’s Batman movies (more interesting than Christian Bale, to be sure), Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and and the action films. Indeed, he’s the only reason to watch Lost in Space, and his scenery-chewing in Prisoner of Azkaban is not only one of the most delightful parts of the movie but also absolutely apropos for the film going on around him. But, hey, I shouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth—if you Marvel fellas won’t have him, we in the JCEU will take him a heartbeat!

Fat paycheck. Won't have to put any effort into it. mcu fans will mindlessly worship it in that hyperbolic way they do. Literally no way he can lose.

But with the masterly JCEU, on the other hand… (Am I pushing this too hard? I had tons of fun with it and, bad as it is, miss baiting our humorless religious fanatic friend… Forgive me, Father, I have sinned…)

I'm not getting the joke this time. Are there some Jesus movies upcoming? Do religious movies ever do well? I know liberals love to prattle on and on and on about how brilliant muslim movies are but does anyone actually watch that shit?

Fat paycheck. Won't have to put any effort into it. So basically his Gordon performance. You know I think he said in an interview he wasn't too fond of his work in TDK trilogy, same with Harry Potter. I remember it being in that interview he did for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes a few years ago where he went all out and blasted Hollywood politics.
