This will be my second post about Marian Dora. Dora is a German director who uses a fake name and refuses to show his face. At the risk of blowing my load early in this thread, I give you Dora's most notorious film, Melancholie der Engel (2009). It will be found on most "Most Disturbing Films" lists for good reason. There is pissing, shitting, and animal killing. There is some debate as to whether a real cat's throat is slit in this film. Some say it is fake. You can be the judge. This movie isn't hard to find in full on the world's most popular video streaming site. The truth is it's as beautiful as it is disgusting. It's very long and very artsy. And the score by David Hess is really, really beautiful. Not available for purchase in the US, or really anywhere right now. You might be able to get an expensive third party copy on Amazon Germany. www.imdb.com/title/tt1420558/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melancholie_der_EngelA documentary about the film was made and that can be purchased here: blacklava.at/index.php/revisiting-melancholie-der-engel-slipcase.html I’ve seen it. It has some pretty disturbing moments, but overall I thought it was boring as fuck. I much prefer Cannibal (2006).

What the hell? Why would any sane person possibly be interested in something like that, you sick fuck?
Whoever directed it and whoever was involved with that scene should all be put on death row. And you should be beat up just for mentioning it. Asshole.

I'm more curious as what one would hope to achieve or discover (as much in the movie as for him/herself) by viewing those. On a dare I watched A Serbian Film. I must admit I was able to get through it in one sitting and without looking away. While it idn't give me nightmares I just don't get what could be enjoyed or the thrill of it. To boast that you've seen some seriously twisted and hardcore stuff? Also, movies are supposed to make believe, not be real, otherwise it's a documentary or you might find a friend in Luka Rocco Magnotta ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luka_Magnotta). When Fassbender peed in Shame, it felt weird, not because of the dick but because it was real, not an illusion or a trick, plain reality.

Not all movies are meant to make you feel good. Some are meant to depress you and/or shock you. One of the reasons I like watching movies like that is to see how much I can take. But I would lie if I said being shocked by a movie wasn’t satisfying. I enjoy it. I enjoy watching movies that make me feel things good or bad.
