Yes I think they should go back to the 80s and 90s MTV that we grew up loving. The stuff that is on MTV now have nothing to do with music at all they might as well just changed the network name.

Music Television died in the mid-90s.
Mtv was born in the late 1990s-new Millennium.
The MTV (Music Television) You speak of doesn't exist anymore, it died a long time ago.

Do you think MTV should go back to the way it was in the 80's and early 90's. I mean with the Vjays and music videos. I miss the old MTV. I loved coming home from school to watch my favorite music video or see an interview with my favorite artist. the best thing about the old MTV is that you were exposed to music you might not other wise have listened too. Remember the beyonce song last year that was on the news ? Just imagine how much more popular it would have been if MTV were the same today as it was back in the 80's and 90's. It sucks that all they have now are fake reality shows. I feel sorry for all the teenagers who have to grow up with this crap. The problem with this...and the reason MTV changed...is that playing music videos makes next to no money and it can't sustain a network. They were in the beginning stages of going under when they started with minor syndication (Remember The Young Ones?) and original programming. Same thing happened with Comedy Central when it was just "The Comedy Channel" and only showed clips of stand-up. It all led them where it is now. So while 80's video TV is far superior, it is a business model that has gone the way of the dodo.
