Aye, he'd been looking very, very ill at his recent gigs, and you can't exactly say he'd kept himself in peak condition at the best of times. I never had much time for him in his later years at all, but there's no denying that a big character has gone.

As I said to someone earlier, simultaneously surprising and not surprising. The 19 year old me would have been utterly devastated. The 53 year old me is still processing it. Funnily enough, while I haven't felt like listening to an entire LP for a while, I've been playing random songs recently, and this is a goodie that I'd almost forgotten about - One of their best IMO, very sad news.

Gutted. A true maverick gone. Will be playing Witch Trials tonight and trying to remember just how much I loved them back when it came out.
