Veggie haggis? Isn't that like the biggest oxymoron of all time? Veggie haggis is very popular, even amongst carcass eaters. Accounts for a huge percentage of haggis sales. It's about the flavours and textures. You've got to move with the times. Besides, I'm vegan. Can't really eat sheep's stomach and other offal can I.

Well you could, just not if you wanted to remain a vegan.
I've never really understood fake meat. I like plenty of meat free foods, just not usually the ones that try to imitate meat. But even though haggis is such carnivorous food, I guess a veggie version could make sense since so much of its texture is from oats and whatever, and it's so highly spiced.
But it still just sounds wrong.

Not for me, Clive.
I had some tinned haggis the other night. It looked like dog food as I eased it out of the can!
I could only manage about a quarter of it before becoming scunnered.

I hear what you're saying.
Yeah haggis is primarily oatmeal and barley based, with the flavours coming from the spices.
A lot of confirmed carnivores really enjoy Veggie haggis, say it feels and tastes the same. Give it a go. Personally, I recommend Howies (wider vegetable base), but a lot of people prefer MacSweens (heavy on the oats)... both taste good, just personal preference.
As for the whole 'fake meat' thing... generally don't go for it myself, prefer knocking up curries etc from vegetables, fruits, nuts, and pulses... But if 'fake meats' help people make the jump across to a plant based diet, I'm all in favour of it🌱👍

I'd maybe give it shot, but I don't think there's anywhere in the US to get real haggis, so nobody is gonna bother with fake haggis. I've seen some recipes for the fake stuff though.
