That dude's probably selling insurance or something by now, but you can guarantee he will be giving more interviews if/when that relaunch happens then he ever has.

It would be cool if it had normal football rules and ran during the NFL's off-season.

The rules really weren't that outlandish. The only major differences were that you had to convert for an extra point and there was no coin toss. The lack of a fair catch made almost no difference.
And it did run in the NFL's off season, and I can only assume it would again. It would be completely insane for them to try to compete.

If he relaunched it now its popularity would fall somewhere between the Arena Football League and Ultimate Frisbee. If the regular NFL is supposedly struggling, no one will give two shits about this in the summer.

TV ratings are down, but I did say "supposedly struggling".

Yeah, this worked so well the first time. What's going to be different now?

Not interested. If it were an offbeat sport in America like cricket or rugby I’d be more inclined to tune in...but another pretty standard football league? Meh.

I don’t even remember the rules....or teams Basically the coin toss was a 40 yd scramble to the football...and there were no extra point kicks. Everything else was pretty much just nfl rules with less than nfl caliber players. For the most part. Calgary Hitmen and LA Xtreme are all I can remember off hand. Even tho I’ve been kind of looking it up lately since the rumors of it returning. They had teams in Memphis and Orlando as well. Edit...it was actually New Jersey Hitmen wasn’t it? I was thinking Calgary cuz of Bret Hart.

It was the NY/NJ Hitmen, which is kind of a dumb name... And I also remember the Las Vegas Outlaws, which I thought was kind of a cool name.
The big rule change they sold to the public was that there would be no fair catch on punts, which kind of had no impact since you couldn't hit the returner before he caught it anyway.

'Hitmen' was friggin' epic! Nod to the NJ/NY Mafia and also a former popular wrestler of his Bret 'The Hitman' Hart ..........

Is he going to bring back He Hate Me? I'll watch. I'll probably even play fantasy XFL Football again. Can't believe I lost in the championship with Tommy Maddox and Rod Smart.

Absolutely no one is going to watch this. Once NFL is over, people are done with football. The only way you could get people to watch this is have big stars come over to it from NFL, and you know that ain't happening.
