They really should just go back to the beginning and reboot Space Angel.

Maybe they'll get it right this time.

Apparently the stars behind the series aren't happy, but I personally think if it's executed the right way it could work. If they make it more like the short lived Lifetime series Witches of East End (a little darker, serialized) I could see it working out.

From what I've read of the reboot, I'm looking forward to it. Seems like they may be going with the idea of a 3rd sister that didn't grow up with the first two sisters, right from the get-go. Plus, I kind of like the idea that the 'baby' of the three is going to be 18-20yrs old and the other two are 25-30, so that spaces them out enough to do some cool stories with each one over the years- should the show go 3+ seasons.

I watched the first couple seasons of the show, but couldn't get into it. Maybe the reboot will be better, but being on the CW I strongly doubt it.

I just watched the first episode of it tonight. What did you think of it? I was never a fan of the original, and so I was willing to give this new version a chance. Out of the three sisters, I think I liked Maggie (Sarah Jeffery) the best. And as for the character of Harry (Rupert Evans), I kind of kept wishing for a repeat of this moment from Hellboy (2004)...

Haven't had a chance to sit down and watch it (was on a trip, so when I return home- me and my DVR have a date, for the 6hrs of stuff I recorded while I was gone), but I am really anxious. I couldn't help myself, I read a few spoilers while I was gone. PS: Do you mean like you wanted someone to throw something at him, or you just wanted to see him getting surprised? I'm assuming the former.

I'll be interested to hear your thoughts once you've watched it.

I have it, plus the first 2 eps of the 3-part EXPEDITION UNKNOWN special on the afterlife, a couple eps of some procedurals I like, plus a Halloween-themed movie.

I saw the pilot. I was a fan of the original show but it went on way to long (as usual with popular shows). The pilot for th new show had potential but it had some serious problems too. We'll see what happens.

@chalice_of_Evil I watched the pilot and second ep, back to back. Have to say I'm quite taken with it, I especially liked Harry and the eldest sister, Macy. I do agree, some of the "I am woman, hear me roar" was a bit heavy handed and ALL IN CAPS, BOLD, ITALIC. I did like that the littlest sister really is intuitive and caring, underneath all her, "I just want to be a soririty girl, and this power is putting a cramp in my sex life". Loved everything with Macy, from her friendship with the nice guy at the lab to the way she admitted that she had wanted to hear her/their mother say 'it was a mistake' so badly. Harry does start out awkwardly, and when they had him vs. the mom-from-the-quiji-board I just kept hoping he wasn't actually a baddie (I was pretty sure he couldn't be). And why did no one warn me that ROBERT PINE was in the pilot? ??

The first 2 episodes have been ok. The political agenda stuff is stupid but I have learned to ignore this form of stupidity. My biggest complaint is a complaint that I have about many modern shows and it's this;
We are only 2 eps in and we are already talking about the end of the world! Can't we have 1 season with some lower demons that just threaten certain people or families or even a town? Do we have to go straight into the apocalypse? So next season they will be saving the whole universe?
Shows these days really need to learn how to start small and build up over time.

@chalice_of_Evil I did like that the littlest sister really is intuitive and caring, underneath all her, "I just want to be a soririty girl, and this power is putting a cramp in my sex life". That's what I like about her too. I think they've done a good job of showing there's more to her/more going on with her than may first appear. She really does feel like the 'heart' of the trio, to me. I also find her the most likeable/'fun' one. I do think the three main actresses have good chemistry together. I didn't mind Harry as much in the second episode. I think that it, like you said, was probably just first episode 'awkwardness' that made me not so fond of him in the first episode. And does him explaining to the sisters that he won't turn up every time they say his name mean we won't be hearing them refer to him as Meghan Markle anymore? My biggest complaint is a complaint that I have about many modern shows and it's this; We are only 2 eps in and we are already talking about the end of the world! My reaction when the word 'apocalypse' got mentioned was pretty much, "Seriously? Already??". I agree, they should take things a bit more slowly when it comes to threat level. Start off with some lower level demons, etc and work their way up to an 'apocalypse'. Anyway, I'm still not-minding the show.

Start off with some lower level demons, etc and work their way up to an 'apocalypse'. Anyway, I'm still not-minding the show. I agree, she does very much feel like she'll be the 'heart' of the trio/sisters (I'm thinking the middle sister will be the backbone or 'gut' depending how you break it down, the eldest/half-sister being the 'brain'/skeptic of the trio). And, like many people who are deeply intuitive/caring, she comes across as being shallow and overly wrapped up in fleeting, unimportant things. Most of the people I've known in life, who were actually very deep thinkers and deeply emotional (And spiritual) people, tended to be the ones running around talking about somewhere you could get a cute dress for cheap or practically living in their HARRY POTTER 'I solemnly swear' shirts, so people think they are immature or shallow, only to find out that under the right circumstances, and with people that were trusted, the shallow/immature people blossomed and actually think about where we go when we die while they are driving to get that cute dress, they read high brow SciFi, they are able to talk for hours about ethics of modern science, or they can look at their best friend and say, "I can tell by looking at you, you're having heartache. Who hurt you?" and listen to the friend for hours. They do all have really good chemistry. I actually thought the new-eldest sister and the baby, especially, have good chemistry. Which makes sense, cause the middle sister is probably the one most-likely to try to go face something alone. Heck, she does it in the pilot against Robert Pine's baddie when she realizes he's around. Exactly, the first episode was so determined to make him seem out of place and a little like you couldn't trust him. They were working a little too hard to make a red-herring out of him in the pilot. The second episode, where he really is supposed to be Suspect #1, he seemed much more trustworthy and less awkward. I actually loved the little pause with him when they are all sitting battered (esp. in Harry's case) in the living room with the crystal. You could tell he wanted to say it took a bite out of your Soul, then he paused and auto-corrected himself to say 'emotions' instead. There's a history there, something he wasn't-saying besides the one word. I look forward to getting more of his backstory (some press releases had that he was an actor in/around WWI or WWII- depending on which press release you read- and that he got recruited to MI6 and died as a hero, coming back as a Whitelighter, so he could very well be like his counterpart in the original series, with a widow/friends/etc. out there in the world)... But yeah, I mean the Meghan Markle thing was cute the first two or three times the little sister did it, but it got old fast. [There's actually another supernatural series I watch MIDNIGHT TEXAS, where one of the main actresses actually played Meghan Markle, so I just kept picturing the actress from the other show every time the littlest sister mentioned the name) Yeah. Part of me kind of wished he hadn't told them about the apocalypse just yet, even if it is a Thing and he knows about it. Part of me wished they had the blue demon dude (Robert Pine) say something, which gets the three sisters cued up that SOMETHING bigger is going on here, then over the next four or five episodes, have little clues and see how each sister reacts. Maybe Macy is piecing them together like actual clues, going through the book their mom left for them, and doing internet searches to try to find more info and figure out what is around the corner for them. The middle sister would be all gung-ho and say something like, "I wish Harry would just tell us whatever it is and stop holding back on us", cause she's the most-paranoid of the lot. Then, baby sister seemingly ignoring it, but we find out she's really doing her own internet searches on her phone, making notes/video journals in her phone, trying to piece it together, plus she tries to whittle it out of Harry on at least one occasion. ....OR.... for them to have that be the big cliffhanger for the end of the first season. Them finding/unlocking the prophecy that says they are the last chance to stop the apocalypse. And in the opening of season-2, have them confronting Harry about how long he's known about this, only to learn from him, "There are, quite literally, THOUSANDS of prophecies going on at any given time, across the world. Forgive me if I can't keep track of them all, and always know which one of the 328 dealing with a trio of sisters, is the one we're dealing with when I've only got one or two clues to narrow it down." I'm really looking forward to the third episode. In fact, I think I may re-watch the first two. I had a little trouble in the pilot a couple times, because my puppy didn't want to be quiet. She wanted to play with her very loud squeaky toy, and she wanted to play with it less then a foot from my head.

I too really like the chemistry between the youngest (Maggie) and the oldest (Macy) siblings, but then I also really like Maggie and Mel's chemistry. The great thing is that all three siblings have different dynamics with each other. I'll be interested to see how they develop. It’s great to see you’ve put so much thought into this show already when we’ve only gotten two episodes. I think that, while it does have some ‘rough edges’ at the moment, quite a few shows I’ve watched have started out that way, but gradually improved and actually become really good. I think it’s just finding its footing and will hopefully find its ‘groove’ soon enough. I'm really looking forward to the third episode. In fact, I think I may re-watch the first two. I try to wear him out during the day so that at nighttime when I’m watching shows, he’s feeling worn out and wishing to sleep. Thank you!! Being one of four, I can attest that there really can be these things where A & C have a special bond, C & B have their own special bond, B & D have a bond, and like A & D tolerate each other but would kill to protect each other at the end of the day. Siblings are weird. Yet, where would we be without our siblings? YAY! Yeah, I just... there was something about the way he paused there, put together with the press releases when they did casting, it just makes me wonder what the backstory will be and how it will affect how Macy, Mel, and Maggie will see him in the future. I have not seen that movie. I did think it was cute at first, maybe it was just that it took a little long for Harry to inform them of how it really works, that it was more like how many times you say the title 'mom' in conversation compared to when you shout out, 'MOM!' and your mom hears you over a garage band, a howling dog, a train, and a rusted tail pipe. Would be interesting if they'd kept it, what other names he might have picked up, before it was overwith. Oh, yeah. I'm a writer, by hobby (I'd love to do it as a trade, but that isn't likely), so you give me a tease of information with an interesting character, and it is basically like someone threw dry brush, kerosene, and a match into my brain. WHAM! Gotta write. Gotta fill in the blanks, gotta toy with why the character said This instead of That, try to understand why the character stayed or ran, and trying to piece together how the character came to be in the place they are in now... But I have to agree. I had a show I used to watch, SANCTUARY, and honestly - the 2hr pilot was soooo boring, so dry, and had shoddy camera work. Turned out to be a really good series, especially the second and third seasons, before actors started leaving and such. I swear, my dog arrived normal but thanks to my nightowl nature, she has shifted to adapt to my schedule. I work a lot till midnight-ish and then I have homework I have to get done/shows I recorded, then I go to bed at like 4AM, so I think she now believes 1-3am are playtime. Thankfully, she usually lets me sleep in so it isn't like I go to bed at 4AM and she wakes me at 7:30AM to go pee. She did when I first got her, but she was 6 weeks old and her bladder was the size of a pea, so that was to be expected. Wouldn't trade her for all the tea in China or spices in Italy though.

I like Maggie a lot so far also. I'm sure the others will get more interesting as time goes on.

Okay, I'm dying to talk about the new ep since I finally got to watch it!!!
I loved the whole thing with Mel and Harry, I honestly thought I was going to throw something if people kept making the two of them share scenes, but this episode totally turned that around. I really enjoyed seeing them starting to figure each other out, from her talking about her mom's gift of always supporting/loving Mel for who and what she was before Mel was old enough to understand that she was different from what others might expect of her, through Harry's tidbit of backstory with Fiona (I'M DYING TO KNOW MORE about this Fiona, and if she was from his mortal life or Whitelighter beginings?), and the whole thing about the bracelet. Then, when Harry promised her at the end to help her deal with getting the Elder's permission to tell Nikko, and restarting Macy's heart- cause that would have killed Mel to lose her, especially by Mel's doing.
Also really liked the stuff with Maggie, about her needing to learn about balance, work/life, school/Greek life, personal/selfless, etc., and also how she deals with her gift. I especially liked both her teasing with everyone when they got home to see her party-ready house, and her quiet scene with Macy up in their mom's room. I could watch the sisterly bonding for days. Also, it was a nice touch to have both of them teasing under their breath about no one noticing Mama was a witch with wolfsbane and such sitting in plain sight on shelves all through the house.
I especially enjoyed Macy's story this week. First off- her comment about when people learn an attractive woman over the legal driving age is a virgin, totally true. I've seen it happen (admittedly, it does seem slightly worse for guys), and I loved how her sisters tried so hard to undo the damage and make it alright, while also making it worse. Second- loved her reunion with her Mr.Bond, they are just too cute! The CW even gave her a staircase moment, descending the stairs in her godly get-up, like Persephone come back from the Underworld, and him all Bond-worthy yet awestruck. If this is a sign of what kind of romance these two are going to have, sign me up to watch it unfold every week!
Really looking forward to the dilemma next week about what to do with a beast, inhabiting a body with the innocent human soul trapped inside. I mean, I feel like Mel, Maggie, and Macy are going to do whatever they have to do, including disobeying the high and mighty Elders if need be, to save this young woman's soul. Even with Mel having just told Harry no more recklessness, I can see her now when she stands with her sisters as they tell him they won't let him or the Elders throw out the baby with the bathwater (or in this case, the human soul with the demon).
