I would like to rate it a 7/10, because I enjoyed most of the film...
But, I have to rate it a 6/10, due to one major story telling issue:
The History of the "Seekers" still doesn't make sense to me...
According to the film...
To clarify, the movie implies that the Seekers, NEVER LEFT EARTH.
We KNOW that at least ONE of those seekers, (the movie implies at least three), transformed into vehicles in the 1900s... A Car (Model T?), A Plane (B-24?), and an SR-71 Blackbird.
PLOT ISSUE #1.) So... these Transformers were on Earth for "centuries", and no one notices Giant Machines driving/walking/flying around?
(OK, maybe if they were "flying", they were labelled as UFOs.)
Jetfire transformed into an SR-71 Blackbird.
The first flight for the SR-71 Blackbird, was on 22 December 1964.
So, this means, that Jetfire could not have changed to his final vehicle form until about 1965.
PLOT ISSUE #2.) So... No mechanic ever noticed that Jetfire's SR-71 Blackbird had alien tech inside it, or had Decepticon Symbol marking's on it?
PLOT ISSUE #3.) So... Jetfire is alive and kicking for over 4 thousand years, and then suddenly, in "1965", he just stopped functioning, for no apparent reason. And only a Cube Shard can bring him back to life...
I watched the film several times, and watched the deleted scenes on the DVDs, and nothing explains these issues.
I know we humans are "dumb" and "poor witnesses"... but not that much...
I think If I saw Giant Robots walking around Washington DC in 1776, and saw an SR-71 Blackbird transforming into a giant robot on an US Air Force Base in 1965... I would remember! And I think everyone else would too!
But no one, except Sector 7 Agents, knows anything about these Seekers until this film, which takes place in 2009?
I just can't "suspend my disbelief" concerning something so obvious...
Like I said, I had to drop a rating notch for this.

2/10. There were like two scenes that seemed like they struck the right note. The opening scene in Shanghai and the part where Optimus Prime died. Sorry spoilers.

The History of the "Seekers" still doesn't make sense to me... Transformers 5, if I recall somehow, showed TFs throughout pivotal human history. While it's a fun storyline, it makes TF 1-3 seem outlandish. Then again, the US gov't knew nothing of them while Turturro's bunch was keeping Megatron on ice. I dunno, these movies are half hate-watching because my G1 bias, & half guilty pleasure because at least they're delivering layers upon layers of convolution for stupid fun rather than make them paper thin.
