Anyone think they have seen one?
Do they exist?
What are they if they do exist?

OK. Erjen might remember and some people complain that I tell this story again and again but here it goes. I was about 9 or 10. I was very thin and weak boy. We went to village for wedding of a cousin. One of our cousins used to tell ghost stories at night and there was a tale that some villagers had seen ghosts. On one night before the main marriage some function was going on the ground floor. I went to the roof of the house as I was bored of that function. When I was on the roof I thought I saw two witches with fair faces and in red saree dancing together and blood was dripping from their lips. I was so scared that I didn't return to the ground floor via steps. I just jumped to ground floor and it must have been very comical for everyone as a boy landed from the sky right in the middle of the function that was going on at the ground floor. Because it was village, the floor was made of clay and so I didn't hurt badly but still was injured a bit. I now believe that I imagined those things because of being so weak and thin and because of those stories my cousin had told me. OldSamVimes has much more interesting story than me and his is an experience of adulthood when he worked in a morgue. I wish he tells the story for us once again but he hasn't told them in last 2 years.

Sometimes I feel as if some force exists but there is no way to prove such things and I don't believe in things such as some psychologist found ghost in certain haunted house or something by a documentary maker.

My grandfather was a village police sergeant back in the 1930s to 1950s...
When stationed at one police station, my dad's sisters would regularly tell their mother that they had been talking with the lady in old clothes carrying a pail of water across the yard... there was never anyone to be seen when their mother looked...
He would regularly get people just driving through the village at night, calling in to the police station to report a white horse loose in a nearby lane... nobody in the area owned a white horse, and he never found one there, but had to cycle down and check every time it was reported...
Similar, with people reporting a man hanging in a tree at a certain crossroads... same thing, never there when he went to investigate, but a man had committed suicide by hanging himself at that crossroads some years previous.

I personally believe that ghosts are demons.

Anyone think they have seen one? No. No. People experience inexplicable (to them) phenomena and anthropomorphism + socio-cultural norms/myths take it from there.

You should create this topic on the Paranormal Message Forum. Chances are, you'll get a lot of responses there.

Actually the paranormal board gets far less traffic, so this is probably one of the better areas to post the question.
I think most experiences are just the imagination filling in gaps when something inexplicable happens. I believe the brain's neuro capacity can be pretty creative at times of stress, and various chemicals, neurotransmitters, create all sorts of perceptions.
That being said, I cannot help but admit I've had a few things happen that just don't make any sense.
I was with someone in a car driving on a road we'd driven along plenty of times, very light traffic, almost none, very lightly populated, no pedestrians. Suddenly the driver slammed on the brakes and we both looked at each other, and at the same time, asked each other if we saw a little girl run in front of the car. The odd thing was that we described a young girl around 10 years old in a white dress with a blue ribbon and blonde hair. There was no one around. No people walking around. No kids. And the fact we both saw this randomly on a quiet street, enough to hit the brakes? I can't explain it. It was just the strangest thing.
I've had a few of these experiences that I honestly don't understand...

I do believe that most of the time it's probably just people hallucinating or having an overactive imagination. But if no explanation makes any sense in a situation, I believe it's a demon, like I said before.

I'll tell my story as briefly as I can.
I worked in geriatrics for over 10 years, did a lot of end of life care. I think I was present for 50-70 deaths and got to know very well about 300 people before they died.
I started working full time night shifts at an extended care place in the mid 90s.
The other full time night staff warned me that I might have some 'strange experiences', they had all been there for over 25 years. They told me I might feel a hand on my shoulder, or see things that could not logically be explained. I thought they were just having some fun with the new guy.
I would not believe this story if someone else told it to me, this is the kind of thing nobody would believe until it happens to them.
I was working night shift with a care aid on a 48 bed locked down ward. All of the patients were either seriously demented or completely immobile. There was a long dead end hallway off the nursing station with video cameras pointed down that hall, alarms on all the doors and you could also just turn your head and visually look down the hall.
A lady had died in the shared room at the end of the hall during the previous shift, both beds were empty at the beginning of night shift.
During initial rounds around 1230 the care aid asked me 'Did you come in here and pull these blankets down like this?' I told him no, he said that he had been there just after 2300 and noticed the blankets were folded down on the side (like someone was going to get into the bed), he said he fixed the sheets at that time but here they were pulled down again.. It was freezing in that room.
After rounds we were sitting at the nursing station when the care aid thought he saw someone up down the hall, a lady in a nightgown crossing from one room to another. Sometimes the wanderers would get up and start wandering so we went down to check. Nobody was up, everyone was in bed. We happened to walk by the shared room again and both noticed that the sheet was once again pulled down as if someone was going to get into it.
We had been together the whole time, but at first we both thought the other person was playing a practical joke on the other. We decided to stay together, fold the sheet back up and check it in 30 minutes. We waited 30 minutes at the nursing station, watching down the hall on both the video monitors and visually. 30 minutes later the sheet was pulled down again.
We repeated this experiment numerous times till we were off at 0700. Around 0500 we locked the door to the room after fixing the sheets and placing a quilt on top so it would be harder to turn down the sheets. After rounds we opened the room. The quilt was in a tight ball on top of the bed, like someone had made it into a tight ball from the inside.. We could not figure out how someone could put a quilt into a ball like that even if they tried.
In the morning I reported what we experienced to the manager, I said 'I'm not saying it was ghosts, but this is what we observed and I have no logical explanation for it.
The experience really excited me for a few weeks, I had to tell friends and family about it and it was always present in my mind. For me it was a confirmation that after death there is something else.
This post is already long, but I could go on and on about experiences other workers had in that place, and the creepy storage room in the basement. IMO in places where lots of people die it is like the path between worlds is 'thinner' or more worn.

I don't see why there can't be ghosts. Everything and everyone is made of some type of energy. Why can't some be left behind?

The jury is still out re: things like parallel or multi-dimensions. I always find it interesting people report seeing human ghosts, usually of a particular time period, but never things like dinosaurs and cows.
We can explain, to a certain degree, what comprises the physicality of the human body, but what we can't define is our consciousness, our mind, what makes us "alive." When we die, there's no way of knowing what happens to that part of our "energy" of being. But it seems just as likely to me that there is energy in some form that's just not detectable in normal, regular ways. It has to go somewhere, but where?
This aspect of consciousness or soul is fascinating to me.

No, I've never seen a ghost. I've seen unexplained things, but I have no reason to believe they're connected to ghosts.

My life long wish is that some millionaire invites me along with 4 or 5 other people to spend a night at his or her haunted castle (like in many movies of such theme).

Anyone think they have seen one? Do they exist? What are they if they do exist? I believe in supernatural entities, just not that they are necessarily human entities. I myself have not seen an entity described as others have described one, though I've had an encounter with supernatural entities. I have a friend who says he went to a bookstore which was reportedly haunted. He told me that he went to the upstairs level and saw what he called a "ghost". He reported the sighting to one of the owners of the bookstore who told him, "Oh, that's Charlie."
