Certainly not me, that must be the breakout success of the year.
Oh wait no that would probably be IT.

Eh, they were both good movies. Doesn't bother me.

I would have. It's Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart in a kids movie. If ever there was a formula for raking in cash in 2017-18, that's it.

I need to check out jumanji. Especially since the reaction to it is so positive.

So basically you're devastated. That both films were good? No. That a Jumanji film defeated the Justice League? I'm ecstatic. How did it "defeat" it? By making more money in its theatrical run? Seems like a pretty limited grasp of how movies make money for studios, innit? All kinds of other factors. And we all know Justice League is going to become an instant classic at every Blockbuster across America, so it'll soon be checkmate for Jumanji -- nay, all of Hollywood!!!!1

It made more money, got better reviews and defied expectations. People thought the new Jumanji was a terrible idea that would bomb while Justice League would be a roaring success. They got it backwards.

They got it backwards. Nah, Justice League was clearly victim of a vast Hollywood conspiracy. The silent majority loved it.

this may long be remembered as the beginning - could we ever hope seeing the day when obscure films like IT or Jumani can beat MCU's and Marvel's most popular Spiderboy hero returning home and meeting MCU's cream of the crop RDJ-Ironman & Co...?
Do we hear a bubble bursting in ultra slow motion? There is hope...

Eh, seeing how there were folks against the very concept of Homecoming it did pretty well. No shame in not being Number One with all it had going against it.

Certainly not me, that must be the breakout success of the year. Oh wait no that would probably be IT. Well let's be frank, everyone over the age of 8 thought it would suck and bomb spectacularly. I think that gives it the edge over IT.

Beh, it did fine for all it had going against it. You want a real number two (figuratively speaking) go for Justice League. You really have a vendetta against natural dialog...don't watch Back to the Future.

I have to say I'm quite surprised. Dwayne Johnson, despite his stardom status, isn't exactly a huge box office draw outside the fast and furious franchise (and Moana). I thought Jumanji was going to make mediocre money, enough to make sure it wasn't a failure, but I didn't expect it to become this successful. Might be because of the lack of competition.

If you're disgusted with the Shared Universe concept and heroes being connected.

Uh oh. Jumanji is on path to demolish Thor Fragglerock as well. Yikes. A sequel to some lame movies no one even likes is destroying the best the mcu has to offer? formersam pretending he's not devastated when he's obviously panicking? It's got Jack Black and that skinny doctor who girl in it for God's sake and it's still beating spidey's homecoming dance like a rented mule? coldenhaulfield get on the Avengers phone. It's time to reboot the mcu innit?

Certainly not me, that must be the breakout success of the year. Oh wait no that would probably be IT. I waited months to finally get a good stream of IT (non cam version) and then IT sucked. So disappointing. Other movies that took forever to get a good streaming version that sucked were It Comes at Night and Baby Driver. GOTG 2 and Green Room didn't suck but neither was great. I probably should just start settling for the shitty cam versions instead of waiting.
