I didn't think IT sucked but it wasn't as good as I was hoping it would be. The trailers looked pretty promising and then of course it was a huge smash hit and got real good reviews.
I thought the start was good with him in the sewer and a few parts here and there but I wouldn't say it was anything special.

The problem with "It" is that it's been a repeated story for a while now, engrained in popular culture.
Stranger Things, for example, took a LOT from It.
So it was always going to be seen as derivative or repetitive (and thus not THAT good) because the story's been redone enough.

Uh oh. Jumanji is on path to demolish Thor Fragglerock as well. Yikes. A sequel to some lame movies no one even likes is destroying the best the mcu has to offer? formersam pretending he's not devastated when he's obviously panicking? It's got Jack Black and that skinny doctor who girl in it for God's sake and it's still beating spidey's homecoming dance like a rented mule? coldenhaulfield get on the Avengers phone. It's time to reboot the mcu innit? REBOOT. IT. NOW!!!1 |

this may long be remembered as the beginning - could we ever hope seeing the day when obscure films like IT or Jumani can beat MCU's and Marvel's most popular Spiderboy hero returning home and meeting MCU's cream of the crop RDJ-Ironman & Co...? 
Do we hear a bubble bursting in ultra slow motion? There is hope...
