You get older. When I was young this would be my dream vacation. Now that I am older this is more to my liking. Got any examples of how your tastes have changed as you got older?

When I was younger I tended to be intrigued more by ancient, exotic places such as Machu Picchu, Abu Simbel, Angkor Wat, etc.
They're still fascinating to me, but now I'm more interested in European cities and historical sites.

When I was younger, like in my teens, I was much more focused on Mexico, Brazil, Latin America, and some parts of Europe.
I still would love to visit those places, but now I am much more focused on Asian and African countries.

Younger I probably also wanted to go where everyone else was going, & always to specific destinations & attractions
Now I want the journey in me, road trips. I avoid tourist traps like the plague. I road tripped Atlantic Canada a couple years ago, cut south of Quebec shorter via Maine on my way out. Did my own thing staying off the beaten trail outside cities. Until hit Hopewell Rocks (the Grand Banks tourist trap) where dozens of buses & seniors & kids & teens everywhere. That was my first & last trap on my run... There wasn't more tourists until I hit Cape Breton, the Cabot Trail, large sized + being half a provincial park helped disperse any crowds/traffic.

Pretty much the same. I loved going to the beach and partying when I was younger. We used to drive down to Tijuana or fly down to Cabo and get wasted and go clubbing. I still go down to Baja California,Mexico, but now it's to go camping in the mountains or find good fishing/kayaking/surfing spots. The less people, the better.

When younger when I went drinking I looked for places like this. Now just a quite little restaurant to have a drink and something to eat.
