A pseudonym of Justin Scott, who wrote some sea thrillers under this name. For the most part, I found these books entertaining and well written. There are two that stand out as clunkers, though:
Red Sky at Morning deals with the Chinese navy sending an armada of submarines up the Hudson and East rivers to launch a surprise attack on New York. Pretty implausible attempt to be Tom Clancy, when that isn't this author's forte (although he went on to write two Jason Bourne novels).
Sea Hunter - a book about a group of people on a ship chasing after a genetically engineered sea mammal. Silly, but still enjoyable.
The book I like best of his is Ripple Effect, about a man who goes missing, presumed dead, after the 9/11 attacks. His teenage daughter finds out he's alive and in hiding on a remote South Pacific island and sets out by herself on a sailboat to cross the Pacific to find him.
