it was bad. too bad. rock is fun to look at but i wish they had used SOME humor in the movie. this was just…. bad. Sounds like the minority opinion at the moment. yeah I realize that. For me it took itself too serious. That was the problem. It was a bad movie regarding script and plausibility so no way people should even compare it with the wonderful Towering Inferno and it had one dimensional characters and NO humor so why would anyone compare it to the marvel that is Die Hard? And it had mostly cgi and wires stunts so why would anyone compare it to the miracle that is the M:I franchise? Beyond me. And once you stop comparing what is left is just an OPENLY BAD movie, that doesn't include enough humor or great stunts. Like I said, the Rock is still fun to look at, and it was easy for me to stay in the theatre and not walk out, so its not like I rate it as a disaster but probably close to 3-4 out of 10. Now had they added some self-reflecting humor to it and let Rock openly admit this is a farse, then I think i would have really enjoyed it. but I wouldn't try and talk anyone out of seeing the movie and get why people like it. It has its moments. Just not enough. I mean the scene with the mother on high heals doing a pull up on the rail while her kid is on her shoulders - a scene like that could have been either self aware ridiculous or funny or sexy and could have become iconic but they went for :serious: and it killed it.
