Im not a super heroes fan but I loved Iron Man

Yeah, i would hope so given you scored it a 10 as for me my scoring system breaks down like this in very simple terms...

-5/10 or less = Thumbs Down (won't re-watch(with rare exception))
-6/10 or higher = Thumbs Up (will re-watch)

so if i am re-watching a movie and it eventually drops off to the point i will no longer re-watch it, then it's score will be adjusted accordingly.

but with that said... i am curious, do you hand out high scores fairly often or not? ; i ask this because i think for some people they tend to score too many movies too highly and you can't really tell what they truly like a lot vs what's just above average to average to below average and so on. with this said... i don't limit my scores of movies just to limit them, it's simply that there is not many movies out there that are enjoyable enough to merit a 10/10 score (only ten movies currently(used to be more than twice that years ago)) as that's a score i only give to movies that are basically as enjoyable as a movie can get and then the further it gets away from that my score is lowered accordingly.



Yeah, it's hard to say whether you will like it or not since taste in movies vary from person to person. but given the volume of super hero movies out there chances are it won't be your favorite like it is for me. but then again it could still be solid for you especially if there is some super hero movies you personally scored fairly high.

also, if i recall correctly i think you liked Henry Cavill in general as i thought you suggested he should be James Bond a little while ago in these forums and i said while he might not be bad it's not going to happen simply because he's already affiliated with a major character which is Superman and i cannot see the Bond producers going with someone this well known tied to a well known character in a super hero movie. another thing... i think Cavill is the best to play Superman even though i used to think it was Christopher Reeve but on a attempted re-watch of Superman (1978) on May 8th 2015 i could not even finish it due to boredom (but i don't really blame Reeve for that). it's a shame as that used to be a solid super hero movie for me quite a few years ago. so once that happened, it kinda threw my generally positive image of him as Superman out the window because the movie itself is simply boring for me now and now i default to Cavill as the best Superman and movie.

i have seen Man of Steel (2013) twice so far (Oct 16th 2013/July 11th 2016) and it improved a bit on a re-watch for me as it was initially a 6/10 and on a re-watch i boosted it to a 6-6.5/10.



Yeah, i used to score some super hero movies higher years ago but lately (say the last 4-5 years or so) that genre simply just don't seem to be able to interest me to any higher degree anymore even though it can still entertain me enough to re-watch some of them. still, a 6-6.5/10 makes it within my Top 243 movies. my favorite movies are my Top 199 which is my 7's and higher so Man of Steel is a bit outside of my favorite movies basically.

but yeah, i basically agree with you that the villain was one of the weaker things about Iron Man (2008) but Downey Jr is pretty much running the show in that movie.

but i will say this... if i had to re-watch a super hero movie i give a Thumbs Down (because i don't feel it's good enough to re-watch in general) i would probably roll the dice with Iron Man (2008). i say this because it's probably the closest one to getting a Thumbs Up amongst those i gave a Thumbs Down off the top of my head.
