Over-saturation is ruining Star Wars. I'm tempted to bow out of this franchise right now. Kennedy is creatively bankrupt. She hasn't contributed anything to the franchise other than politically-correct reworking of stories that have already been told. To make up for this, she's going to clog the market with as much content as possible. It's the lightning war. She's going to blitz the diehards so fast and furiously; they'll trip over each other arguing over who ejaculated into whose ear first and how they can get more stepped-on product to feed that opening-crawl habit.

That's not really what I'd call over-saturation when those movies have also been divided into two trilogies with a logical beginning, middle, and end.

She obviously doesn't understand what made Star Wars work so well. It was focused on one family that happened to be caught up in a galactic Civil War. It doesn't work when the story and characters are meaningless and just set in space.

They're going to stack the SW pipeline moving forward. You ready for that R2 prequel joint? Kevin Feige is that woman's nemesis. Dude is straight spinning gold from spandex. They're competitors in a kind of corporate hunger games. After the Fox deal is closed, Kevin will become the boy with all of the gifts. Iger may tap him to take over the the SW shop while Kennedy segues to a comfy board position. Sounds crazy, I know but, hold that thought...

As well as TV series, re-issues, toys, mercandising, magazines cover features celebrating every concieveable anniversary etc.....for 40 years it has been difficult to ignore and heavily milked

It's different, though. A magazine is released one week, then forgotten the next. An animated TV series rots on Netflix for eternity and costs a fraction of what a movie does. Movies are marketed for months, cost hundreds of millions of dollars, and make billions of dollars at the box office. They are a whole different animal altogether. No one complains about Marvel's many TV shows. The main complaint thrown at Marvel is focused on their movies and how many there are in a short time frame.

Haha well I dont know. I remember her from the 80s and her sister was a tv anchor in Washington state and they did a show on the family and KK was there and she came across as the mousey kind of sibling. I cant imagine her being much of a boss. Then again she may have been acting for the camera and was a mean bitch in real life.

Well to me it always seemed like it's always been there. Now i did used to pop into Forbidden Planet every week where it's merchandise was always taking up huge amounts of space, and all the film magazines I bought couldn't go by without a 5, 10, 15, 20 25 etc anniversary special of one of the films (and even in the case of Empire seemed to constantly have pointless features on the films). I welcome anything new on the screen, but in general it seemed to me there was more "Star Wars" at the time of the OT, re-releases, special editions and PT and most of the time in between than there does now. Just my perception, but it seems that a lot of the baggage that surrounds the films seems more muted in recent years than it did in the past..even that may not in reality be the case
