Over-saturation is ruining Star Wars. I'm tempted to bow out of this franchise right now. This

Oh man Twitter was fucking livid over this announcement! Really? That's actually kind of surprising.

Not sure if you are joking or not, but SW was barely on the radar from 85 to 99, and disappeared again from 05 to 15. Well to me it always seemed like it's always been there. Now i did used to pop into Forbidden Planet every week where it's merchandise was always taking up huge amounts of space, and all the film magazines I bought couldn't go by without a 5, 10, 15, 20 25 etc anniversary special of one of the films (and even in the case of Empire seemed to constantly have pointless features on the films). I welcome anything new on the screen, but in general it seemed to me there was more "Star Wars" at the time of the OT, re-releases, special editions and PT and most of the time in between than there does now. Just my perception, but it seems that a lot of the baggage that surrounds the films seems more muted in recent years than it did in the past..even that may not in reality be the case Even when there is no movie, Star Wars is always there; cartoons, books, merchandise, conventions, etc. And, as is the case with many things in life, past output is not an indicator of future performance. At the pace Disney plans to keep, SW will likely have a new film every year from now until the Porgs come home. Winter is coming.

I dont mind this. Let's see what happens. So there will be alternating trilogies after this phase ends I guess. I was worried that they changed their mind on Rian. I really dont mind the star wars stories. Rogue One was great, solo looks good too.
