I loved John Wick. I remember that when I saw the trailer for John Wick 2 for the first time I could barely contain myself. Like seriously it was a dopamine rush in my head that lasted for a long time each time after I saw the trailer again.
I had a similar reaction to seeing Blade Runner 2049 trailer.
What should be the next one?
While all look promising, these projects dont do "it" for me:
Annihilation, Ready Player One, Solo, Red Sparrow, Death Wish, Black Panther, Infinity War…
What else is out there that someone like me (sci-fi and action movie lover) could be REALLY excited about coming to the movies this or next year?

Maudie does look good but its going to take me a while before I can watch Sally Hawkins again…

Did you like the actual movie of John Wick: Chapter 2? I hope you did. It seems really under-appreciated if you ask me.
As for an answer to your question, I would say that Deadpool 2 has a *small* chance of giving off that "John Wick 2 feeling". It's directed by (basically) the assistant director for John Wick 1. I could see it being pretty action-packed and neon-lit like the John Wick flicks.
Also maybe Mute, which comes out in just a couple of weeks, looks like a good Sci-Fi crime movie. That's about all I can think of off the top of my head.

I vote for Soldado. I love the first trailer, though I recognize that the movie may not be as tightly written as Sicario was, but Taylor Sheridan is returning to write so I haven't lost all hope.
I'm OK with this movie being more action-oriented too.

Soldado and Mute look very interesting . Mute is a sci fi mystery and Soldado has Del Toro going ape shit on the drug cartels so expect a lot of action in that one.

another film (that I've been keeping a very close eye on ) is You Were Never Really Here . Apparently its sensational and brutal starring Joaquin Phoenix. Comes out in April

Mute I am very much excited about yes, good point. But I dont want to see it at home on Netflix. I will only be really excited about it if Duncan Jones makes it happen in the cinemas Deadpool2 is a good suggestion too but not equivalent to the John Wick 2 party in my pants
