Strong claims but more digestible that someone like Chris Claremont has now said. He also implies that it will be much closer to the source material than X3 was even though that is not saying much.

They should take advantage of it being the last FoX-Men movie and have her do real damage and have real consequences like destroying whole chunks of the Human race. THAT would make it stand out.

"Oh no she killed Cyclops with a kiss! She turned Xavier into cgi confetti!"
Give me a DP movie with her slaughtering billions! Men, Women and children bursting into flames and screaming as she just destroys everyone!

I would love that! The last attempt at the Dark Phoenix was a pussy attempt. "Oh no she killed Cyclops with a kiss! She turned Xavier into cgi confetti!" And finally force Xavier and Magneto to see just what Humans are afraid of when they think of mutants...and realize maybe they have a point. |

Nothing in that quote says that he is saying Dark Phoenix will revolutionize the genre. He actually says that he hope that it will be good. That it could be better than the 1st attempt (comparing the 2 Casino Royale movies). He's saying that they have the ingredients to make a good movie and hope they can make a movie just as good as Avengers. Hopefully, the first trailer can get us wanting, more than the Venom teaser did. |

The first Apocalypse trailer was slammed and the PR campaign never really recovered from that including the bad purple set picture of Apocalypse himself. |

He says that it will have as powerful an impact as Casino Royale had for the James Bond movies. All Casino Royale did was strip Bond of everything that made him James Bond just to try and build him back up to almost where he was with the next entries. That was what First Class and the next movies did. Also that means he has seen the movie. If not, this is just marketing. I don't know what they can do to change people's minds about X-men after Apocalypse. The people making the X-men movies are so tight-knit that it will come off as samey. I really hope that the Dark Phoenix trailer doesn't look like rearranged scenes from the previous movies. |
