Who do you think was the better actress Bette Davis or Joan Crawford ? I think Bette Davis was the better actress All in all, definitely Bette Davis was the overall better actress. That is not to say that Joan was not capable of delivering the goods. Her best performance, IMO, is "Humoresque". She wears her masochism on her sleeve, and she is ravishing, and I honestly don't think that Bette could have pulled off that particular role as well as Joan did. Joan also gave excellent performances in "Possessed" (1947) and "Flamingo Road" (1949). Then 1950 hit her like a brick wall, her balls dropped to the floor and she declared war on the entire front of Western civilization. She was fascinating during this period of her career. |
