there might be other series but that's what comes to mind at the moment and seeing what others listed in here.
p.s. I even pretty much agree on LOTR as even though that series gets a Thumbs Down form me I scored them all the same. but based on what I remember I prefer the series... 3/1/2.

The Hobbit
Harry Potter has all great instalments but some are a bit better than others. And all three in the Dark Knight Trilogy are great but it's clear TDK and TDKR are a step above BB.
