Whether it be Rose McGowan eating the dashboard in Death Proof or Jennifer Jason Leigh getting her teeth knocked out in The Hateful Eight, it's never frankly bothered me (except for what happens to Sophie Fatale in Kill Bill Vol. 1). I know that sounds horrible but I guess you can look at it either as being true gender equality with both genders subject to horrible violence or downright misogynistic.
Thoughts?

That doesn’t sound horrible to me. They’re just movies after all.

Anybody can be brutalized at any time in a Tarantino movie. It's part of the fun.

The only problem I have is if they get actually brutalized unwillingly to portray it instead of just acting it that way.

Something never mentioned in any of the current articles & opinion pieces floating around about this, which place emphasis on the fact that Tarantino insisted on performing as Christoph Waltz's hands in close-up shots of Diane Kruger being strangled (INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS)...
One of Tarantino's film idols, Italian director Dario Argento, nearly always "played" the killer's hands in similar shots in his violent giallo thrillers.
Tarantino is exactly the kind of guy who'd do something similar in order to emulate one of his influences.

The only time it bothered me was Daisy getting beaten up in The Hateful Eight, because it was generally played for laughs and the audience I was with was eating it up. Otherwise, his violence is much more aimed towards men. Particularly sexual violence. More than one of his movies have a guy's genitals getting maimed.
