As I’ve said elsewhere, just wait till the great Armond White gets his hands on it…

I don't want to overreact but I believe this reviewer needs to be dragged into the street and beaten mercilessly.
BLM and Antifa will take care of it in time.
No one's going to destroy the image of Black Panther at this point.

'Like' culture x Outrage culture = this.
It's a f'n number, who gives a fcuk. How many RT tomatoes were barely fresh? I don't even care.

This isn’t the first black superhero movie or anything. Not sure why people are treating this movie like some sort of milestone.

To quote the late Miles Davis, "nobody ever built a statue of a critic." If this one guy didn't like it ('like' equals giving it a perfect a score), it's more likely a true critical viewpoint than an attack on the lead character's ethnicity. To anyone bashing this guy's review, would you rather he 'let it win' than be objectively critical? That, to me, sounds more pandering and try-hard than a guy who perhaps didn't think this was the best movie he'd ever seen. Not seen it yet, but looking forward to it. I've heard this is a bit like "Wonder Woman" in that it is a solidly good movie...no matter the race/gender of the main characters.

This is getting a bit out of hand. Even is the guy makes no valid points and his review isn't professional, don't be mad at him, he's still allowed to have his own opinion. If you want to be angry at someone, be angry at Independent.ie for hiring such a guy or be angry at Rotten Tomatoes for including his review. Besides this review, I fear we're reaching a point where people write good reviews to prevent these kind of things to happen to them. If you didn't like a movie you should be able to say that and, while people may disagree with you, things should never get violent. Otherwise we're bordering on limitations of the freedom of speech concerning movie reviews and that would be a very sad thing. And btw who cares about the rotten tomatoes rating? I'm getting a bit annoyed at the supposed power rotten tomatoes has gotten over movies since last year. Is 100% really that important? Even if a movie has 10% you can still like it. Rotten tomatoes doesn't govern your opinion on a movie in any way, you can dislike a movie with 100% and like a movie with 0%. Anyways, let's just stay civilized. It's one review of a movie and people are already going crazy.
P.S.: I'm personally extremely excited for Black Panther and I can't wait to see it. I just think these kind of reactions are excessive.

More and more people look at reviews only for the rating. Reviews are mainly about reading someone's take or analysis on a movie. This way you may discover new things or look at a movie in a different way. If you read a review only to see if that person has the exact same opinion as you and if that person also gives it the highest rating, you'll be disappointed most of the times.

First African superhero? Have these people not heard of Spawn, Blade, or Luke Cage? These people are morons.

This is excessive, really. Second negative review is out--Woman critic says heavy stilted dialogue makes the 134 minute film drag, and the music score is mediocre, but she still says there are many good scenes
