metro.co.uk/2018/02/08/black-panther-knocked-off-rotten-tomatoes-perch-getting-first-bad-review-7298150/Black Panther has had its first negative review, ruining its 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. After seeing off internet trolls who tried to sabotage its rating as they blame Marvel for the negative reviews the DC Extended Universe has received, it has only taken one review to dent the perfect scoring. The 3-star review, from Independent.ie, calls the film a ‘stodgy tale of internecine feuding’ and criticizes it for not having enough fight sequences. ‘What [Black Panther] doesn’t get to do much of is jump around beating-up bad guys,’ it reads. 'That’s a shame. Marvel has finally given us an African superhero. The hope surely was that he would be allowed do superheroic things.' It seems to be the film’s only lukewarm review so far – and admittedly it isn’t that much of a whingefest – but fans are furious to see the score on the be-all-and-end-all Rotten Tomatoes slip. Critic Jamie Broadnax tweeted: ‘This one negative reviewer of Black Panther gave it a rotten because T’Challa doesn’t beat up enough “bad guys”. Really my dude?’ Another tweeted: ‘The guy who gave #BlackPanther 3/5 and destroyed its 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes waffles through his review, ending stating that there’s ‘not enough beating up bad guys’. This review lacks any sort of substance and the writer doesn’t actually make any worthwhile points…’ However others came to critic Ed Power’s defence, with one disgruntled film fan saying: ‘You can’t give a bad review for #BlackPanther! So, basically, you are not allowed to give your opinion. Where is the freedom of speech now?’ ‘Y’all do realize that the rotten tomatoes ratings dont mean shit right? You like it go see it. Multiple times. The box office is where this counts not online behind a keyboard,’ another tweet read. @johnjzaragoza1 wrote: So there’s a critic that gave #BlackPanther a bad review for not beating up enough bad guys. I say they add a scene where everyone beats up the critic.

I do not have a problem with it. I wish more people would actually review the movie and not give it a 5/5 because it has black people in it. Also, people keep calling this the first black super hero film. This is crazy to me. Do they forget Blade? Blankman? Meteor Man?

Also Hancock, Spawn, Steel and Blankman. Not to forget Catwoman and Suicide Squad.

I dread the day when huffy MCU fanboys are deemed a race, one can only hope that you guys die out before that. Let's leave it at that. Thanks for the laugh anyway.

You come into a thread about racism towards a black movie and start talking about going full ape and monkey business. Something that is very intentional on your part. Man you trolls... Very good at trying to make the other look like the antagonist.

Ease up everyone, you're getting as hostile as those who want violence against the reviewer.

People want violence against football players that kneel during the anthem. Also, once again, they did it for The Dark Knight Rises as well.

I've never seen this kind of reaction before. Yes, I'm aware of TDKR fanatics and TLJ fanatics and all of that, but this is different.
If you don't like it, you're a racist. If you do like it, you're a suck-up. What a time to be a movie fan!
I guess just simply wishing for it to be a good movie isn't acceptable. It's not radical enough!

They did this with the Ghostbusters remake. Any criticism made of that shitty remake was met with "oh you just dislike the film because it Stars women!" No I dislike the film because it was another unnecessary remake that was soley made to cash in on nostalgia because Hollywood is so fucking creativity bankrupt that they have to resort to remaking old 80's movies and TV shows into shitty movies. And when we point this out, we're the fucking bad guys. We're the evil people because we don't praise a film for being a thought less crash grab. Fucking shills. I haven't seen Black Panther and I hope it's good, but I'm already sick to my stomach over the reaction to the negative reviews. What a bunch of bullshit.

Yeah, but that ended up affecting the movie's box office, not that the piece of shit remake was any good but people felt really insulted. I will see it but I may not even review it.

so what, you think historic precedents of deranged fanboy idiotism and cyber hate justify this? They do not, but are aggravating circumstances.

oops they did it again, another overall success Yeah, and they made it to the cover of Time as well. that what you dismiss as artificial boosters if not MCU. I don't begrudge you that after having to sniff dried raccoon turd for 17 movies. Critics are are hyper praising BP as the first relevant MCU having substance, maybe Marvel learned after all. Let's see.
