Seven Samurai is probably a good example for me, found it a little clunky and dull. Probably rate at least 10 other Kurosawa films above it.
An example of film I waited a long time to see and still enjoyed would be Out 1.

Citizen Kane. Fought hard not to fall asleep. It took me at least 5 sittings before I was able to watch CK all the way through. I'm sure it was groundbreaking for its time, but I just could not get into it at all. |
