Sky and BT Sport have agreed to pay £4.464bn to broadcast Premier League football games for three seasons from 2019-20. Five of seven live packages have been awarded, with bidding for the remaining two ongoing. Interest from "multiple bidders" remains, the Premier League said. There has been speculation that online giants such as Amazon, Facebook, Twitter or Netflix could have entered the bidding process. BT Sport has won the rights to broadcast 32 matches per season on a Saturday at 12:30. Sky Sports is to broadcast 128 games per season, including 32 matches on a Saturday at 17:30. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-43052024

Shame BT have lost the Saturday evening slot because they were doing a really good job with it. Joint best show along with MNF.
Well at least the rights aren't splintered across 4 or more pay services, coz that would be shit.

I'm pleased with the deal, I know its evil paying Sky and of course my bill is sure to go up again but fek it, its one of my few treats. So Sky will continue with Fri night and the new Sat 7.45 kickoffs and have first choice every weekend Always missed the 12.30 games on Sat cos of work anyway

How much is the current deal worth/how much more does the EPL get ? Current deal is £5.1bn. The new deal will almost certainly total more than that once the last two packages of games have been bought. As for the EPL's share - just Google it.

But no proportional discounts for punters, of course.
