I hear more people talking about curling at the Olympics than hockey of figure skating. 10 years ago, people either laughed at it or thought you were talking about hair. I think a lot of the appeal is people see it on TV and think "Hey, I could do that". I tried it a couple times. Those stones are heavy and its a long way to slide that thing. To get it from one end to the other without throwing a "gutter ball" is an accomplishment.
