And it's just been greenlit. It's a post-apocalyptic science-fiction movie called AFTERBURN. I'm honestly intrigued by the premise. It sounds like a mix of Mad Max meets Indiana Jones. The film has long been a passion for Butler, and the hope is to launch a new franchise. Based on the Red 5 comic, Afterburn is a futuristic action adventure. Five years after a solar flare disrupts all technology in Europe, a treasure hunter (Butler) goes to France to retrieve the Mona Lisa. Paired with a strong willed weapons expert with her own agenda, the two search for the famed painting and encounter unexpected enemies along the way. They are eyeing future story lines where the character searches for such treasures as England’s Crown Jewels, the Star of India, or China’s Imperial Treasures.deadline.com/2018/02/jung-byung-gil-to-direct-gerard-butler-in-afterburn-1202288973/

Nope-doesn't interest me. Too vague a premise. If it was like him and a robot dog that can fly, or that he has to retrieve it from a mutant giant ant colony living in the ruins of the Vatican where the queen ant is portrayed by Margot Robbie, maybe. Maybe.
Jung Byung Gil.
I remember when a new action movie was directed by someone with a Western European name.

I haven't seen many of his films (thank God) but I'm over him.

Well, it can't be as bad as Geostorm. Well unless they just splice Butler into a rerelease of 'Lost City Raiders'.
