Auteur? I like the guy, but pretty much the only evidence that Ryan Coogler directed Black Panther is the fact that Michael B. Jordan is in it.

It's waaaaay too early to call him the next Spielberg. He's only made three films so far.
Let's see how he does in the next 10 years before we drop the Spielberg claim.

He's a pretty good director, but the new Spielberg? I mean, he's only mean 3 movies so there claims are very premature. I think Nolan and Villeneuve both come a lot closer to being the next Spielberg. Maybe Cuarón as well, but he doesn't make movies that regularly so it's more difficult to compare them.

That was pretty early in his career. |

given him time, Spielberg knew how to handle story and vfx, though I am sure Ryan will do well with vfx if he had the right resources.
But most of all, Let him be Ryan.
