wth is going on? it might be a google thing but there is no easy way to immediately put a pic on a post. they got rid of that option of opening just the pic.
anyone know how to combat this?
all i get is that tiny x box meaning that the picture was not uploaded. and posting the link is just too IMDB 1.O. I thought we evolved from that.

Use Bing instead. Click on the little box with the mountain thingy and away you go!

I'm not technically minded enough to know why you object to pasting the link in the image function here. Doesn't seem too complicated.

The trick is to not do what you're used to doing.
But to explain what that something else is requires knowing what browser you're using.

I noticed this too! Sometimes, clicking right on the picture works. If not, I switch to Bing.
Maybe they will take this under advisement if their new thing is making people go to another search engine.

i cant stand bing and refuse to use it. google actually gets [now got] results. bing is like the jeopardy of internet searches... random crap.

I believe you can right-click the image in your browser and select "Copy image address" or the like and use that as the link.
Google Image returns a page, not just an image.

Right clicking and "Copy Image URL" doesn't always provide the desired results. We get a low resolution version of the actual HQ image.
The best way is to click "Visit" to go to the website to see the actual image, right click on the image and select "open image in new tab". Now just the high resolution image opens just like in the old Google "View Image" and you can easily copy the actual URL.

redhorizonExcept that with "visit", some of the images turn out to have been on pages where not everyone wants to go and there is no way to know where you are being taken until you get there. Have been visited by a couple of virus since having to goto webpages and it might not be coincidences. Yahoo image seems to be working pretty much as google image did with "view image".

Too bad you got infected. Hope it's a minor issue. I'd like to stick with Google images for the time being. Seems to give more relevant results. But if they keep making it more and more difficult for us users, I might just switch to one of the others. Bing, Yahoo (like you said) or IxquickIn Google Images, you can see the URL of the site you're about to visit by hovering your pointer over the VISIT button. For the contents of the website, Virus Total looks like a good site to check if the URL is malicious. I did a test scan and it's pretty quick.
