From what I've heard I gotta go with NEU! "Fur Immer" is pretty much the perfect song and Side 1 of NEU! 75 is just gorgeous. Kraftwerk would be a very close second and I liked Harmonia and a lot of Can also. Amon Duul II and Faust not as much yet.

Neu is pretty cool, but Kraftwerk has a lot more that I like.

I'm not sure all of you are really commenting on Kraftwerk when they were a krautrock band, I find them a bit underwhelming (Ruckzuck aside, obviously) up until the magnificent Radio-Activity.
I think I'd turn to Neu! more than all the others, although half of Neu! 2 is pointless. I've recently been buying anything with either Klaus or Thomas Dinger present, and like buying albums featuring Jaki Liebezeit, it's proving a good tactic. Having said that, I never cared for Can that much, in the Damo era.

Kraftwerk by many Meilen. But I do have a soft spot for Die Fantastischen Vier....the German hip hop outfit.

They ceased being Krautrock at Autobahn? After Autobahn? I guess I can see that. I do still like those earlier albums, but they were at their best during that "classic" run from Autobahn - The Man Machine.

Cluster, generally with a C, but this week I have been dabbling extensively in Kluster with a K. Some of which can be a tad distracting when attempting to read at the same time, but is mostly pretty good too. Cluster I'm yet to check out, being as they made up 2/3 of Harmonia I'm quite hopeful.
