I don't think WB or DC ever officially gave it that name. Yes, I know it was referred to as such in a magazine, but that was just what THEY (the publication) were calling it. Geoff Johns and Chuck Roven both refer to it as the Justice League Universe (JLU). They consistently referred to it as that during that DC Films special on the CW last year. And not once did they refer to it as the DCEU. I think DCEU is just the name that stuck among fans, but (as of right now) it's still not official. Man, this universe is such a MESS! THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE A NAME!!!

I don't think so, but it stuck around in a semi-negative fashion with people saying it sounds dumb, or they refuse to call it that.
But I think they call everything that falls under the DC live action umbrella as a DCEU project, but their cinematic universe is called the JLU.
I normally stick with JLU or DCEU, simply because DCCU, in a purely visual manner, looks kind of dumb, and DCU is meh; and the "E" helps stop the would be redundancy of the double C's
