I'm sure that there are good reasons for the FDA banning certain dyes, and other additives from foods sold in the U.S.. But, it seems that most of those actions, which make sensational headlines initially, turn out to pose a danger only when consumed in quantities far beyond any reasonable human capacity. God knows how many red/other M&Ms I ate, as a kid. It's been decades since I realized that I much prefer dark, to milk chocolate, so I haven't eaten any recently. Even at the rate that I ate them, my longevity would belie any serious peril.  I'd never heard the baseball "formula," for success-at-the-mound.  But, I do recall a warning that eating a certain color ... I can't remember which one ... while drinking a Coke, could cause pregnancy!  |

...they were my favorite M&M's... Mine were the dark brown. Convinced myself they were more chocolate than the others. Green ones were supposed to be an aphrodisiac. |

BUT another Coke related "Truth" was that drinking a coke with an aspirin in it would prevent pregnancy, acting as a "morning after" remedy.
