....make up that story about being divinely impregnated just to hide from her fiance/husband Joseph that she slept with another man?
She may have tried to use that excuse to retain her honor.
Not really believable, but original. i'll give her that much.

My hunch is that Mary was impregnated the same way that Suzanne Somers was with her first pregnancy. Nobody put her on a pedestal for becoming pregnant without intercourse.

Joseph - the most gullible fictional character in history.

Joseph - the most gullible fictional character in history. Not really. If one believes why wouldn't he take an angel's word? Even if one looks at it as fiction in that fiction angels and God exist and an angel appeared to Joseph.

Not really believable, but original. i'll give her that much. If she existed, and if she had a kid, and if she claimed she was impregnated by god... then maybe. Lol.

Gotta love it when someone quotes an idea from the Bible as if signifying its truth and then disregards other parts of the Bible that contradict terribly-drawn conclusions made from the former.

Just outta curiosity, where, in the Bible, dose it say the mother of Jesus was a virgin? Do they cite any factual basis or is it all folklore?

lol at people not understanding this is a joke thread. The OP did not care what verses discussed Mary being a virgin or any aspect of the thread they created except to make extremely unfunny jokes.

Joke thread or making fun of the idea aside, it's a real topic. I believe those verses establish that she was a virgin before Jesus's birth. After it I don't see any reason she and Joseph wouldn't have had typical husband and wife relations.

It's not a real topic to the OP, but maybe they will come back in here and thank you for the information. Sometimes these types of threads evolve into something else, but I'm skeptical of this one.

That is interesting, the use of the word virgin to describe a pre-puberty girl aside, I did some reading and the Catholic Church holds that Mary was a virgin throughout her life.

But that claim has always made me wonder why. I can't see what purpose would be served by Mary and Joseph not being together sexually.
