yes, they come by the boatload to sunny Los Angeles for pilot season every year. Casting agents often cast them when looking for fresh talent and they often work for cheap.

There were always some of them in Hollywood but maybe what makes it stand out more is the lack of prominence for American born ones.
Like with writers and directors-they prefer if they come from somewhere other than the US (the opposite of Hollywood's golden age).
