It was HIS JOB. If he couldn't act under pressure then he should have never taken a job which requires a person to act under pressure. Teenagers died because he was the person in that position instead of someone who would have acted. But that is my point about soldiers, we know that a fair number cannot kill when the time comes, but we forgive them, why is this guy not given the same courtesy. Don't get me wrong I wish there had been a way to find out he could not do it before hand, but to shame him afterwards is really wrong as far as I think. At least you're not like Goz and going around casting blame on people who had nothing to do with it.

At least you're not like Goz and going around casting blame on people who had nothing to do with it. Lets be clear, the people who are to blame are the shooter, and possibly his mental health professionals who did not see it coming. But when I enroll my daughter to learn martial arts, it is not because I blame her for the possibiilty of being attacked I am giving her the chance to avoid being hurt. Now I realise that this is also an argument for letting people have guns, and don't get me wrong I think you should be perfectly entitled to a gun for protection ( I would get one if I lived in the states), but I also think that we should be looking at who owns guns, and why and where those specific guns are.

That are obviously insufficient and not “universal”. Which is kind of the point of people wanting better background checks and to close the background check loophole that allows people to get around them. If that had any relevance to this case you wouldn't have failed to quote the next sentence of my post. I don’t know where you are going with that, but you made it relevant when you brought it up.

Four armed deputies hide in fear while 17 innocent people are murdered. Then we still have mouth-breathing fuckwits arguing against the right to keep and bear arms. Erm. With respect, you are not quite seeing something here on your own thread. The very fact that the armed security guard and four supposedly trained and ARMED deputies couldn't, wouldn't, didn't attempt to kill an unknown crazy with a 'superior' weapon... actually nicely defeats your argument. To call them cowards is the excuse of an arrogant crazed gun nut like you, who thinks he is an 'expert'. It is the FACT that a crazed young gunmen had such a high powered weapon in his possession and these five men could do effectively nothing, is the actual point. So the solution is obviously to give every teacher, school child, security guard and deputy in the country a weapon of fair and equal capacity and see what happens. YOUR 'logic'.

To call one of the smallest caliber centerfire weapons ever mad a "high-powered weapon" makes the terminology completely meaningless since it would mean almost every firearm made is a high-powered weapon. There are only a handful of smaller, less powerful rifle rounds made while there are hundreds that are more powerful. You might, subjectively, call an AR-15 a high-capacity weapon, but the two terms are not synonymous. Nothing in your post even makes sense, you fucking imbecile.

I defriended someone on FB because they called out the armed deputy that stayed outside as a coward. Okay. He is a coward. How would you know that? Are you just guessing?

From the definition of coward.: "One who shows disgraceful fear or timidity." Try to follow along now, when one does precisely what the definition says then the definition fits that person. Allowing innocent teenagers to die due to your own fear is disgraceful, especially when it's your job to protect those teenagers and we are talking about a deputy who was assigned to that school for that express purpose. You should know better than to intellectually channel Erjen.

I'm sure you will soon, though, so I wait with bated breath.

Even that pathetic excuse for a Sheriff in that county, in his never-ending quest to deflect blame on everyone but the people responsible, doesn't deny that Peterson is a coward: “I gave him a gun. I gave him a badge. I gave him the training. If he didn’t have the heart to go in, that’s not my responsibility.” www.yahoo.com/news/florida-school-shooting-sheriff-says-125311375.htmlIn case you're still having a hard time keeping up, "didn't have the heart" is synonymous with cowardice. Of course, this is probably a big waste of my time seeing as how I'm replying to someone who thinks other people's civil rights should be struck down. Nice Ada impression there.

So you haven't actually determined that he was motivated by fear, then. You've just assumed it, apparently because a Sheriff assumed it.

Whilst you were talking about your types of favourite toys, the actual point I made went right over your head. Mr Logic Irony overload. Why don't you answer the points that I raised? The main one being that there were already five 'armed' men on site quickly who were unable to save lives. In practice therefore, the fighting guns with guns thing clearly didn't work in this case. Your link!

Are you a permanent resident of a mental health facility?
