Thought it was also for the Elliot litigation.

Isn't the draft in Dallas this year?
Goodell has proven he doesn't mind awkwardness.

The article also says that Goodell "was urged to bring the penalties by several owners". Most likely Robert Kraft was 1 of those owners since he led the way to get his best friend Goodell a huge contrac textension, thereby proving once again that their "feud" over DeflateGate was all staged (like a WWE feud) and that Kraft and Goodell had agreed all along that Goodell would fine the team and take away a couple of draft picks (so that Goodell doesn't look like he's favoring Kraft and the Patriots) and Kraft wouldn't challenge the punishment and Goodell would also just give Brady a slap on the wrist (just a 4-game regular season suspension instead of the postseason suspension that the Shady One deserved for cheating in an AFC Championship Game).

Funny how you flipped the stance. Throughout Deflategate you insisted that Goodell was doing the right thing and was not biased. Now, since he’s been going after the Cowboys it was just a slap on the wrist. You wanted Brady suspended before an investigation was even done with your guilty until proven innocent bullshit.

No, throughout DeflateGate, I said Ted Wells was doing the right thing and wasn't biased and came back with the correct verdict. I've always maintained that Goodell was lenient towards the Patriots, from the slap on the wrist for 6+ seasons of cheating in SpyGate to the slap on the wrist for cheating in an AFC Championship Game in DeflateGate. I've always maintained that the punishment for DeflateGate was too lenient and nothing more than a slap on the wrist and should've been more severe. And when the DeflateGate investigation was going on, I said that I would accept whatever verdict the independent and unbiased investigator came back with. So if Ted Wells had come back with a not guilty verdict, I would've accepted that. But Ted Wells came back with a guilty verdict and I accepted that just like I said I would. There still hasn't been any evidence to prove that Wells' verdict was incorrect.

Yup, to the extent I don't mind waiting for another Cowboys' SB win until after Jones is gone.

It's basically reimbursement to the other 31 owners for legal fees. It's been on the books for decades.

Well then, the Patriots should have to reimburse the other 31 owners for the Shady One dragging out DeflateGate through the courts all the way to the appellate court rather than just accept his punishment for cheating, which was nothing more than a slap on the wrist anyway.

I don't enjoy watching the NFL, so it's no big sacrifice to me not to watch. But when I read shit like this, or see anything to do with Roger Goodell, I wonder how the fans can support all the straight up bullshit that happens with the league.
