Howard's portfolio includes some of the most popular films of the past 20 years." From this "first appearance as Opie Taylor" to We've literally watched this man grow up and I for one have been so pleased to do so. A Happy 39+ Wish ! Hopefully this will be true BIRTHDAY TRIBUTE THREAD to a Neo-Classic Wonder !

Happy Birthday Ron Howard !!! Thanks for everything, so far... both in front and behind the camera. Glenn Ford seeking his son's (Ronny Howard's) approval in the comedy The Courtship of Eddie's Father 1963. In classic American Graffiti 1973 With The Duke in The Shootist 1976 A promo shot during the making of Cocoon 1985. Couldn't resist putting in a group pic from Happy Days.

Happy birthday little Ronny Howard! My aunt met him in a restaurant in California back during his Happy Days, said he was even nicer than Richie Cunningham.

I just happened to watch "The Music Man" last night, not knowing it was Ron’s birthday. We sort of grew up together, with him being only two months older than me. My last name is Mayberry, so I was always being asked "How's Opie?" But the one scene he did that really showed his acting ability was in "The Courtship Of Eddie's Father" when he discovers his goldfish has died.

I really liked Far And Away, and it’s one of my all time favorites. It’s also one of the few times that I didn’t want to slap him like a redheaded step child (Just kidding, just kidding! ).
